Wilkinsonville Water District Water Conservation by-laws
During drought conditions the Wilkinsonville Water District shall restrict water usage by the following ways:
Stage I
Voluntary water conservation – outside water usage limited to odd-even allocation program between the hours of 5 PM and 9 AM.
Stage II
Mandatory water conservation – outside water usage limited to odd-even allocation program between the hours of 5 PM and 9 AM.
The restriction prohibits all non-essential outdoor water use during this timeframe.
Examples of “Nonessential” outdoor water uses include:
Irrigation of lawns via sprinklers or automatic irrigation systems;
Washing of vehicles, except in a commercial car wash or as necessary for operator safety; and
Washing of exterior building surfaces, parking lots, driveways or sidewalks, except as necessary to apply surface treatments such as paint, preservatives, stucco, pavement or cement.
Examples of water uses that may be allowed:
Irrigation to establish a new lawn and new plantings during the months of May and September.
Irrigation of lawns, gardens, flowers and ornamental plants by the means of a hand-held hose.
VIOLATIONS
First violation: Written citation
Subsequent violations: Termination of water service plus costs of termination and restoration.
Stage III
Mandatory water conservation – lawn sprinklers, irrigation systems, soakers and unattended hoses forbidden. Outside water usage restricted to hand held hose only for no more than one (1) hour between 5 PM and 9 AM.
VIOLATIONS
First violation: Written citation
Subsequent violations: Termination of water service plus costs of termination and restoration.
Stage IV
Total mandatory water conservation – All outside use of water is forbidden.
VIOLATIONS
First violation: Written citation
Subsequent violations: Termination of water service plus costs of termination and restoration.
